Energy Steel is an entrepreneurial organization and a growing manufacturer of unique engineered components with 40 years of success in the clean energy field. The division will focus on leveraging their unique industry knowledge and strong customer relationships in order to increase the parent company’s presence in clean energy.
The Controller will leverage their operational and business acumen as the “right hand” of the organizations President.
Development of timely, accurate management financial reporting systems will be priority. Successful implementation of Saleforce.com and Epicor will be key year one projects.

Job Description and Duties:
- As a hands-on leader, proactively develop effective relationships with operational management and maintain open lines of communication to promote compliance with corporate policies
- Lead the financial and analytical support efforts for the organization to assist in decision-making, trends tracking and cost management
- Enhance finance policies, procedures and internal controls
- Coordinate month-end close processes including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations and general financial review
- Prepare financial statements including the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows
- Prepare monthly reporting packages to be submitted to corporate
- Prepare division financial reports as appropriate on weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Review job costing and perform appropriate analysis
- Mentor and develop a staff accountant
- Lead and participate in special projects at the division and corporate level
Minimum qualifications:
• Minimum of 5+ years experience reflecting progressive levels of responsibility
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business related field. CPA or CMA preferred
• Ability to analyze income statements, balance sheet, and financial statements to provide timely and accurate decision-making by the leadership team
• Hands-on leadership style with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organizations
