The Value Stream Manager is directly responsible for delivering contracts on time, to full quality expectations, and at expected margins. The Value Stream Manager leads a team of direct reports, and various technical experts for which they are expected to direct their day-to-day work, to achieve these goals. The Value Stream Manager is also the main Operations interface and manages their commitments/capacity to service contracts.

Principle Duties
• Determine priorities consistent with planned capacity, identify resource requirements, facilitate contract performance reviews, and ensure competencies and performance metrics are met while providing oversight to assure that schedules are maintained and achieved.
• Responsible for managing assigned contracts. Responsible to deliver projects on time, at budget, and to ensure all contract specific requirements are met.
• Clearly define and communicate the customer’s expectations regarding delivery, quality, product performance, technical requirements, document submittals, agency approvals, communications, reporting, witness / hold points, packaging, testing, shipment, and payment.
• Provides regular status reports to management containing assessments of contract status relative to cost, delivery, customer submittals, and risk.
• Deconstructs and examines contract performance during Margin Reviews. This includes developing a post-shipment contract review including assessments of cost, delivery, quality, and miscellaneous contract specific requirements. Maintains and champions improvement efforts born out of this review and works with executive management to ensure efforts are brought to a satisfactory conclusion.
• Directs Estimator’s activities to ensure RFQs are actioned correct and timely.
• Directs Buyer-Planner activities associated with fulfilling demand for contracts.
• Directs Quality Assurance Engineer’s activities associated with ensuring quality requirements for contracts are met.
• Directs the Project Engineer’s activities associated with contract compliance matrix, customer interface, weld requirements, commercial grade dedication, and other technical matters.
• The Value Stream Manager is expected to direct various personnel in Operations to manage the commitments made for manufacture, assembly and shipment of contracts.
• Supports Continuous improvement efforts through involvement in structured problem solving and other activities using LEAN concepts.
• Other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent job experience.
• 3-5 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred, but not required.
• A strong team player with demonstrated leadership skills.
• Ability to successfully lead a diverse team, as well as organize and manage multiple projects of varying complexity.
• Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, standards, and specifications.
• Ability to utilize available resources effectively to solve problems as they occur.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and Salesforce CRM.
• Strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work with and manage outside vendors.
• A highly motivated self-starter that works well without supervision.
